Croquet Cup Challenge

This afternoon was the second year that various financial and professional companies gathered at the Mansion House to compete in a croquet tournament in aid of the Lord Mayor's charities. The event was organised by Estate Capital, who also provided drinks, a buffet and a cup for the winner.

This tournament used to be played at Estate Capital's Uplands office, but when they moved their base of operations, they no longer had a suitable surface. There was therefore a two year hiatus before I suggested that they reconvene the competition at the Mansion House.

All of the competitors made donations to my charities and this money is match-funded by Barclays Bank. Last year, including the match-funding the event raised about £2,000. We are hoping for a similar amount this year.

As with the two previous competitions, this year the contest was won by Barclays Bank. We are very grateful for all the donations from the eleven firms who took part.
