Citizenship Ceremony

I was back at the Civic Centre registry office this afternoon for another citizenship ceremony. As usual, myself, the Deputy Lieutenant and High Sheriff addressed the candidates and their families before they were sworn in, in my case to welcome as fully fledged citizens of Swansea and to explain a bit about my role.

There were 17 new citizens today, most already living and working in the City. Their countries of origin included Nigeria, Cuba, Turkey, Iraq, North Korea, Congo, Bangladesh, Iran, the USA and Pakistan.

Afterwards we chatted over tea and cake and posed for some more photos with some of the families.
